One More Update for the Day

An overview of the scene thus far.

Partially done with the railroad tracks. Just need to make a few more adjustments.

But not now.

Now I go read some more.

Researching the Railroad Tracks

I have been having problems with the railroad tracks. Mainly things like how wide/thick should they be.

I went onto good ol' Wikipedia and found a graph of different track gauges. Oh joy.

After deciding that I was going to go with the Standard Gauge, I found some close up pics of the tracks themselves.

I was still having problems until Jesus spoke to me. He pointed out that the plank-like structures needed to stick out past the rails.

Thank you, Jesus!

P.S. For those of you who do not know, I have a friend named Jesus Emil Rodriguez, who also happens to be in this class and you can get to his blog by clicking here.

Abandoned Project WIP Details and the Like

Abandoned Transportation Destroyed

I am done (for the most part) with the motorcycle((:

This is the only way I will EVER beat up a Harley Davidson.

However, one of these days, I will own one of these...hopefully it will not be in as bad of shape as the one above...but even so, it is still a Harley!

Abandoned Transportation WIP Mapping and Texturing

I did most of the UV mapping yesterday. I did all the textures today. I am very proud of how this bike is turning out. ((:

Abandoned Transportation WIP 2

I have been borrowing bits and pieces of another bike Chris found online. Mainly things to fill space, like all the little turkeys that make up the bike's belly. -.-

Abandoned Transportation WIP

So, in the Abandoned scene, I have to include a mode of transportation. Sure, I could have chosen something easy to model ---

...Wow, just...wow....ANYWAYS...I could have chosen something easy, like a pogo stick, or a skateboard. But that is boring. And I like modeling. I think. So I chose this beauty.

This, my dears, is a 2000 pearl white Harley Davidson Fatboy. Just like the one my Daddy had.

Now, I am sure you are trying to figure out how this is going to tie in to my Abandoned scene. Well, I have two words for you: Post-Apocalyptic (or one word, depending on where you stand with hyphens).

More to come ((:

Abandoned WIP

Abandoned Project Concept and Sketches

I am pretty excited about this next project. I have a couple few sketches of what I have in mind.

...Uhm, that's not the right sketch...that's what happens when I listen to Skrillex for too long...

Okay... -shuffles papers-

Obviously, the first couple times I tried to sketch out my idea...it was not pretty. At all. BUT then I got to perusing some stock photography that a few of my classmates were so nice to provide and came up with the following layout.

I have this thing about gas stations. I love 'em. The older, the better. Oh and trains. But do not get me started on trains. I love walking on the tracks and seeing what there is to see. I like picking up random spikes and --- what? Oh, sorry.

Ahem. But yeah, this is what I have in mind.

(^ I SUCK at perspective. You do not even want to SEE my perspective drawings from drawing 1...)

Mm...train. -drools-

Anyways, I guess I need to head to class soon... UGH. But then I get to start on this beauty.

Breaker, breaker one - nine, she's a big ol' flirt.
